
865 – Death of Ansgar
Ansgar was a Frank. When Charlemagne started his conversion of the Saxons, Ansgar was sent as a missionary to Saxony. His missions also went as far as Denmark and Sweden. When he returned, he became the first Archbishop of Hamburg-Bremen diocese and extended his influence over Scandinavia, as well.

1014 – Death of Sweyn Forkbeard
Just days after his successful invasion of England, just when he finally became king of Denmark, Norway and England, Sweyn dies in Gainsborough.
