877 – Coronation of Louis the Stammerer

Louis was a son of Charles the Bald. He first ruled Aquitaine and later the whole of West Francia. He was crowned twice, first by archbishop Hincmar of Reims, on 8 December 877 in Compiègne and later by pope John VIII.
