The Smithsonian is a renowned museum. Between 2000 and 2003 it hosted a travelling exhibition called ‘Vikings: The North Atlantic Saga.’ The web pages of the exhibit are still available and especially informative for teachers and families. There is an interactive map, a virtual tour of the original exhibit among others. It is a brief, but a well-illustrated introduction to the Viking Age.
Some twelve years later, the Smithsonian published on their blog a small interview-retrospective on the exhibit.
More goodness from the Smithsonian appears on their web site in 2020: Open Access images. Plenty of Viking images there, too!
