The Viking Ships of Edøy Island

Last November, I shared the discovery of the Edøy ship burial in a microblog. The archaeologists of Norsk Institutt for Kluturminneforskning (NIKU) wrote an article on their web site. This explained more about the ship and the further building structures they found. And in the course of the past months they also added this video:

This week, a local online news source, Life in Norway, broke the news that further georader surveys in the area had revealed a second, smaller ship close to the original find. The official report about this ship has been released on the NIKU web site, but is for now available in Norwegian only.

This article will be updated as more information about the site and the ships becomes available!
